A few weeks ago I wrote about how sometimes we are forced to deviate from our plans and I also said that I felt like I should expect some plan change…and I was right. This Saturday evening, half of Living In Transit (me) will be on a plane headed for Pereira in Risaralda, Colombia.
In case you were wondering, no, I won’t be traveling under cheery circumstances, unfortunately. If you had asked me last Wednesday or even this past Sunday what I’d be doing this Saturday I probably would’ve said “I don’t know,” because I never usually know, but I never would’ve imagined I’d be en route to South America. C’est la vie.

Besides dealing with some serious matters, I’ll be trying to rediscover a land I haven’t visited in fifteen years. Alot has changed, I hear. So have I. But change is to be expected, right?
I’ll also be trying out my new (kid-sized) backpack, which I’m super psyched about (who said I’m a glass half-empty kind of person?)…reviews to come.
In addition to all that, I’ll be posting from down there, as I hear there are many places where internet connection is guaranteed. Win. I’m excited about sharing from afar what I see with all of you and Eli. Ten days won’t be a long time to relearn a place but what can you do? Take what you’ve got and make the most of it or things just seem uglier, harder, worse than they really are or ever have to be.
I don’t expect this to have an impact on our October plans, however, to be honest, this little curve ball has caused some serious injury to my travel funds. Whatever, I’ll just have to figure it out; I usually do. There’s a lesson to be learned with this experience, as with all experiences; do I dare guess what this lesson will be about?
Hasta luego, my friends. I’ll be back July 8th.

Good luck and safe travels. I hope you are well.
Change is good, and in many cases, often enlightening.
Take care.
